A two-day conference, entitled ‘The Levant in Transition – the Intermediate Early Bronze Age’, will be held at the British Museum on April 20th and 21st.
It will focus on the still-enigmatic period following the end of the urban Early Bronze Age, the non-urban EBIV period. During that time, between around 2200 – 2000 BC, the southern and central Levant saw a period of profound economic recession coupled with population dislocation.
Speakers will include Rupert Chapman, Kay Prag, Jonathan Tubb, R. Thomas Schaub and Jean-Paul Thalmann, among many otherhigh-profile international scholars.
